Mima'm, a Space for Family Support and Training Courses

After more than 12 years accompanying Families and Children with all our Support Activities from a Respectful Parenting view in Catalonia, Mima’m has evolved into a national and international Project of Family Support and Training Center.

In Mima’m we continue to give you care and support through the Childbirth Preparation Course and the Postpartum and Breastfeeding Support Group. And also, in an organic way, we have evolved towards a Training Project, in which we accompany people who feel the need to be trained and grow in Maternity, Parenthood and Respectful Upbringing Support.

We understand Respectful Parenting as the way to love, treat and educate children with respect, coherence, conscience and love. Pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, breastfeeding, the child’s early years (0-2 years) and upbringing are fundamental aspects in people’s lives, and emotional bonds play an important role.

Our Essence

From Mima’m we offer the possibility of strengthening these bonds through our spaces of Companionship and Support, and at the same time, with our Trainings, we offer the possibility of discovering ways to accompany all these processes.

We know that Parenting has multiple colors and stages, and it is from the acceptance of all the nuances that it can offer, from the brightest moments, to the most complex moments and full of shadows, living as accompanied and listened to as possible, where we can go through this moment so crucial, vulnerable and at the same time so powerful of our Lives. It is important that each Family, each Mother-Child Dyad, finds its own way of Parenting in coherence with its feelings and needs, and that it can be accompanied in a respectful way on this Path if it so wishes. Let a mother find someone who will tell her, “You can do it, you know how to do it. Believe in yourself, listen to yourself. You have the answer.”

This is our essential line of Support, the one that guides us in our Spaces and in our Formations. For us, it is a priority that all the People who share any of our spaces of Accompaniment and/or Formation, can find a space where they can meet again and be without judgment, where they feel pampered, looked at, listened to, a space of support and containment.

Our Services

Mima'm and You

I have been able to experience (trans)formation at the same time as a woman, as a mother and as a professional and this has greatly enriched the experience.

It has been a TRULY EYE-OPENING JOURNEY. The main change that training has brought to me is the deep and complete vision of motherhood, parenting and the accompaniment of these vital processes.

I am left with subtlety, delicacy, sensitivity as fundamental ingredients to live the experience of motherhood and accompany it…

Estafanía C, Doula Mima’m Training Student

I have learned that accompanying breastfeeding is not advising but observing the woman and making her feel understood and supported, offering different options in which she can feel comfortable and she chooses the best option.

Aitana A., Mima’m Lactation Consultant Training Student

For me this year it has been a gift to do it online, I felt that this way I could dedicate energy when I have not been able to get everything on time. Knowing that even though I wasn’t live I could also share that time on a deferred basis has been very reassuring.

I.P, Alumna of the Growth and Supervision Program for Doulas

I joined the group at 20 weeks pregnant, my son is almost a year old. That group has allowed me to go through the transformation that being a mother entails with serenity. I found support to have the birth I wanted (wonderful), the immediate postpartum, a complicated start to breastfeeding, and learn a lot from the other families. I had never heard of free movement or co-sleeping, which were two great revolutions in our family. Now that I have been a mother for almost a year, I realize how difficult it is to find a space where we accompany from tenderness, without judgment, and with the needs of babies and mothers at the center.

Alicia, mom of the Family Group

Thank you to the whole team for all the sessions. We loved it. For me it has been very special to be able to share this space with my partner and for him to see from the hand of a team of professionals like you all this information that has empowered me so much and that he could also feel that first-hand. The fact that we have done it together has been gratifying and a change in how we approach this as a team.

Laia, mother of the Childbirth Preparation Course

This journey has allowed me to recognize and understand the role of a Doula from different sides, they all have in common the love for childhood, the empathy and the opened heart towards the family wishes.

The seminars as a whole have allowed me to see this figure from many perspectives and experiences that have offered me a much deeper vision of the most important aspects in relation to (pa)maternity and childhood and, above all, with the feelings that this entire vital stage of people’s lives awakens.

Marta M, Doula Mima’m Training Student

Very well, it is important to land all the feeling of the doula profession. Being able to work as well as execute a professional idea where the raw material is so emotional and vulnerable, is very enriching and necessary.

A.L, Alumna of the Growth and Supervision Program for Doulas

I have been surprised once again by the good management of the Online Training Format. Although in my case I have done it on a deferred basis, I think that the support, the presence of the tutors, the fluidity, the times and the management of the interventions is perfect and makes the online format comfortable and close.

Aitana, Mima’m Lactation Consultant Training Student

I think this group is fantastic, it is a great help for me especially living abroad and without being able to count on help around me.
You always answer immediately and give very good advice with a lot of affection and respect. It’s the best group I know and it’s worth being here for when I have questions or concerns about my baby. Thank you very much for your support!

Elena D.M, mother of the Family Group

A very complete and holistic preparation for childbirth, rigorous, updated and respectful. A warm and empowering accompaniment from sensitive, receptive and expert professionals in the field. A space for connection with the baby and with other pregnant mothers. A tribe, a support network.

Marta, mother of the Childbirth Preparation Course

After doing the Doula and Early Childhood and Parenting Companion Course I take with me the learning of flowing with what life is presenting to us. To be a little more compassionate and honest with myself. I have incorporated new and valuable learnings and ordered others that were already in me…

Mima’m Doula Training Student

Thank you for giving so much space to the practical and real, to give so much look at the fact that behind each case there are people, families, that look beyond!

Carla, Mima’m Lactation Consultant Training Student

It has been wonderful the way in which the training guides us to put ourselves in our place and to review ourselves, both when the activity suggested came from an individual case and when it was a group one.

Student of the Growth and Supervision Program for Doulas

Being part of this family support group at Mima’m represents a very warm and powerful support among equals for me. A tribe of support at a time in life where vulnerability and strength come together. A time of many personal and family transformations, where doubts, fears, intuitions and deep wisdom emerge. Having a support group where you can share experiences at this time is golden. And also always from love, affection, respect and support.

For us it is a very important space where we can embrace the difficulties that we encounter in the postpartum period in a more breathed way and with more love. It is also very nice and enriching to share experiences and support other families.

Alegría, mom of the Family Group
