Giving birth is a unique and unrepeatable moment, a transcendental moment for Mother and Baby. For this reason, days like today are so important, to make visible an option as valid as any other for many Mothers. ❤️

Giving birth at home should not be a privilege, giving birth at home is a right that all women who wish to have it should have access to. ✨

We take advantage of this day to share with you the words of Laia Casadevall, who from her experience, wisdom and activism, does not stop informing and paving the way for more and more women to be accompanied and respected in their decisions from scientific rigor.

“Why does home birth bother you?

Because Home birth is about free women. Of autonomous midwives. Physiology. To believe in one’s own body and in our ability to give birth. Reliable . Because home birth abandons hierarchies, power relations and paternalism.
Because it’s annoying that we can choose, that we have options. Because it is a matter of human rights.
Because we are talking about women and midwives who are not afraid of the system.

Home birth is annoying because it is something they cannot control. Women who give birth at home are revolutionary. And the midwives who accompany them are firm defenders of women’s rights.

Home birth is a safe option and supported by quality scientific evidence. Just because you’re afraid of home birth doesn’t mean you should slander it. Because doing so makes you an accomplice of a patriarchal, paternalistic and misogynistic system.

Home birth is annoying, because it is a matter of women, rights and feminism.

To claim options and freedom over our own bodies, our births and our children. To claim that we want to be truly free. Claiming that only we have the power, and no one else .” 🙏🏻❤️
