To accompany a Birth is to be able to see the uniqueness of the Woman, to honor and respect her Life Story, her Truth and her particular needs.

Rigorous, up-to-date, and adequate information is the basis of any conscious choice. Each Mother has the right to choose her unique way of giving birth, to express herself and to be cared for in her unique needs.

When we talk about flexible care, we understand that not all women need to be accompanied and supported in the same way.

It is the responsibility of each professional and of the system itself, to be able to live up to what childbirth as a unique and unrepeatable moment needs.

Giving birth is a unique and unrepeatable moment, a Respected Birth is one that listens and responds to the needs of each Mother, a birth that each Woman can remember with Love and celebration.

Hopefully there will come a day when we will not have to celebrate the Week of Respected Childbirth, because all Childbirth will be.
